The Jahan Mekong

Location: Ben Tre
The Jahan is Heritage Line’s most romantic cruise liner. This magnificent vessel was named after the Indian emperor Shah Jahan who ruled the Mughal Empire from 1628 to 1658. He was a great patron of architecture and romantic arts, overseeing the construction of many legendary sites like India’s dazzling Red Fort or the Gardens of Kashmir. This highly cultured monarch is a fitting namesake for this river cruiser, and no expenses have been spared to evoke the glorious vessels of British India

Overview

The Jahan cruises the lower Mekong River between Vietnam & Cambodia on various itineraries. The ship offers 26 exquisitely designed staterooms and suites, all with large private balconies. The two sprawling Noble Suites are exceptionally designed. The atmospheric East India Club-Lounge is a replica of an old British-Indian Club where gentlemen and ladies used to take a respite from the heat and sip Gin and Tonics. Relax after a few laps in the largest pool of any river cruiser on the Mekong or hideaway in the Observatory Lounge after a soothing spa treatment. On three decks, this vessel offers all amenities of a luxury resort, including a fitness room, a stately restaurant, in- and outdoor lounges, a steam bath and an excellent spa.

Life aboard The Jahan will read much like a noble romance. The morning sun gently awakes you from your restful slumber. When you open your eyes, it feels like you were taken back to a time when royals slept in whimsical abodes. As you step on the balcony, an ideal place for a couple to share a private breakfast, you are assured that the day – which has only just begun – is laden with promise. The Mekong and the cadence of its gentle lapping waves offers a pleasant interruption of the tranquil surroundings and acts as a source of inspiration. At this stage, you quickly conclude that you have not experienced anything like this before. The afternoon tea time will, once again, bring you back to the days of yore – when men tipped their hats and ladies intermittently covered their faces with paper fans.

The Raj of India Lounge
The extravagant lobby lounge is the perfect place to kick back and grab a magazine from our library. Wi-Fi is available to keep in touch with family at home. Tranquil white, crème and golden tones make this the ideal place to relax. Furnished with restful sofas, comfy chairs, and Indian lamps, the Raj of India Lounge and the Old-England style reception are a throwback to the days of Colonial India.

Viceroy Dining Hall

The Jahan’s elegant Viceroy Dining Hall is located on the terrace deck and has access to a small veranda at the back of the ship. During the day, the aesthetically designed restaurant is flooded with natural light from its many large windows. At night, the azure walls and white ceilings with golden borders are bathed in the ornamental British-style lusters’ soft light, creating a regal atmosphere in this dining venue.

East India Club

The open wood-paneled East India Club is a funnel bar complete with camel bone inlays and decorated with a beautiful oriental lamp replete with Sanskrit carvings to re-create a true East-Indian bar ambiance. It is a perfect place to unwind and quaff a long drink whilst savoring the splendors of the setting sun

Observatory Lounge
The Observatory is a stylish Indian indoor lounge with wide cozy divans and a front-row view of the Mekong through 180-degree panoramic windows. Play the an-tique chess game or relax after a spa treatment whilst munching on some fruit snacks or sipping freshly squeezed juices. The Observatory is also used for pri-vate functions such as candlelight dinners or welcome gatherings.

Apsara Spa

The Jahan’s spa is a haven of relaxation. It has three treatment rooms, one for foot massages, manicures and pedicures and two for couples’ or private treat-ments. With more than 20 different aroma oils to choose from and a large selection of treatments to pamper you, our packages are guaranteed to keep you coming back for more.

Terrace Deck
Adjacent to the open-air bar and lounge, the pool –constructed with intricate Turkish mosaic tiles – is an oasis to refresh, relax and soak up the sun. Shaded loungers invite you to rest and relax while the rest of the world floats by peacefully.

Fitness & Steam Bath

Burn away some extra calories at our nicely equipped gym and head to the steam bath for quiet relaxation afterward.

Cabins

All staterooms are spacious and have private balconies, though the sprawling Noble Suites offer unparalleled onboard living experiences.
