Itinerary
On arrival at the International Airport in Bangkok, our driver will pick you up and take you to the hotel, check in the hotel, time at leisure.
An early start will get you to Wat Pho in time to experience the monks’ early morning chanting ritual (chanting starts at 09:00AM). After this uplifting and often private experience, explore the temple grounds and see the famous 45-metre Reclining Buddha.
Continue to the Grand Palace, Thailand’s most important landmark, where you will be awed by the grandeur and majesty of its buildings and throne halls. Then, marvel at the mysterious Emerald Buddha, the most revered Buddha image in Thailand.
A delicious lunch will be served at Never Ending Summer, a rustic Thai restaurant situated by the Chao Phraya River.
After lunch, board a private Thai retro solar boat and sail up the majestic Chao Phraya River before entering a khlong (canal) that takes you away from the typical tourist trail. While the boat’s appearance may seem modest, it operates in an eco-friendly way using solar power harnessed directly from the sun—a rare and impressive feat of engineering. Sit back and relax on a soft cushion as the boat slowly cruises along the riverbanks and through Bangkok’s historic and charming khlongs.
Inside the khlong network, you will stop at Wat Khun Chan, an intriguing temple rarely visited by tourists. A short walk across a footbridge leads you into old alleyways where you can enjoy a cold coffee before visiting Wat Paknam, known for its white stupa and hidden museum.
Return to the boat and continue cruising through Khlong Bang Khuntien, eventually arriving at Poomjai Garden, a hidden natural garden and restaurant nestled along the canal’s edge.
Owned by a local Thai family, this beautiful garden has a history of over 100 years. The family transformed their land into an organic permaculture site, preserving rare plants and trees—such as a century-old lychee tree. They also work with the surrounding local community to source fresh ingredients for the restaurant.
Take a walk around the garden and relax by the canal with a locally inspired signature drink before transferring back to your hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, take a short drive from the bustling streets of Bangkok, where the high-rise urban landscape quickly gives way to a lush, green rural idyll. This full-day trip to Samut Songkhram Province—just an hour outside the capital—allows guests to experience the traditional charms of the Thai countryside.
The day begins with a visit to a local railway station, where a bustling country market has sprung up along the tracks. When a train pulls in or out of the station, vendors quickly clear their stalls—only to set them up again moments later once the train has passed!
From here, the journey continues to the famous Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Although it is quite touristy today, it remains the best example of what a traditional floating market was like decades ago.
A relaxing paddle boat ride through the labyrinth of canals offers the chance to see the older parts of the market and observe the local lifestyle along the canal banks. Off the boat, enjoy a stroll around the colorful floating marketplace, bustling with boats and vendors selling tropical fruits and other local delights.
For tours falling on a Saturday or Sunday, guests have the option to choose between visiting Damnoen Saduak or the smaller, less touristy Tha Kha Floating Market, where a short paddle boat trip through the backwaters includes a visit to a traditional Thai house that produces coconut palm sugar. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant near the floating market.
The tour continues by long-tail boat to a local Buddhist temple and the King Rama II Memorial Park, known for its ornate collection of traditional Thai-style pavilions.
Back to your hotel, time at leisure.
8h00: Our tour guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel in Bangkok city. 1.5 hour drive to the Bang Pa In Summer Palace which is used by the royal court as a summer retreat in the 17th century, and still used by the Thai royal family today. Most of the buildings date from the reign of King Rama V, but you will see a variety of architectural styles, all set in a large park around ponds and waterways. The combination of Sino, Thai and European architecture is stunning.
Continue to Ayutthaya city to visit the first ancient temple, the Wat Phra Si Sanphet ancient palace. Then get in one of the oldest tuk tuks in the world to visit around, walk through the ruins of the former capital to see the 2 most beautiful temples, Wat Chai Wattanaram and Wat Phra Si Sanphet.
Lunch time: you can choose to try the famous Ayutthaya ‘boat noodlesoup’ or river prawns. You can pay for lunch on spot.
After a delicious lunch, take a local boat ride to see the city from the water.
After the boat trip, visit the Wat Chai Wattanaram temple which was built in 1630 by King Prasat Thong to honor his mother, Wat Chai Wattanaram was conceived as a replica of the Angkor temple.
