Itinerary
Day 1: Hanoi Arrival
You are welcome at Noi Bai airport and then transfer to the hotel for check-in. Balance of the day is free time. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 2: Hanoi city tour (B, L)
The colonial capital city Hanoi is a unique Asian city with tree-lined boulevards, French colonial architecture, peaceful lakes and oriental pagodas and temples. This full day tour takes you around Hanoi's most interesting sights, including the Ho Chi Minh Complex: Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and his Stilts House, Presidential Palace and One Pillar Pagoda nearby, the Lake of the Restored Sword and Ngoc Son Temple, the Temple of Literature, peaceful West Lake with lovers street Thanh Nien, the sedate Tran Quoc Pagoda. Take 01 hour cyclo tour around the Old Quarter to enjoy the soul and sound of Hanoi. End the day with a show of Water Puppet.
Day 3: Hanoi - Ninh Binh - Hanoi - Night train to Lao Cai (B, L)
In the morning, depart for for Hoa Lu with 2 hours driving. The capital of Vietnam from 968 AD to 1010 AD during the Dinh and early Le Dynasties is Hoa Lu, which however has left its legacy in the form of two small temples, each one nearly a thousand years old. After two and half hour drive from Hanoi we visit these remaining structures, dedicated to the Dinh and Le Rulers, then climb 200 steps to the top of Ma Yen mount for a fantastic view over the surrounding areas.
The next stop of our trip is Tam Coc which is surnamed "Inland Halong Bay". We take a boat trip on a river through the quiet and peaceful landscape of rice fields surrounded by limestone formations to the grottoes of Tam Coc.
Drive back to Hanoi for the night train to Lao Cai. Overnight on train with A/C, soft sleeper cabin (4 people/cabin).
Day 4: Lao Cai - Sapa (B, L)
The train arrives at the Lao Cai train station at approximately 06:00. There will be a vehicle waiting to transfer us to Sapa. The drive to Sapa is only 33 km but it takes around 1.5 hours. Once at Sapa, enjoy a free morning to explore around town.
In the afternoon, there will be a walking tour to the hill tribe villages of Cat Cat, home to the Black H'mong minority peoples. As we walk to the villages nestled in the valley below Sapa, we will meet some of the local minority people on their way to and from Sapa. Here we have the opportunity to share cultural experiences with the families that live in the area.
Overnight at hotel in Sapa.
Day 5: Sapa trekking (B,L)
Get the show on the road in the morning from the hotel by car to head for the valley where to visit 2 villages of the H'mong and the Dzay. Picnic lunch on the way or in a local family. Go on visiting the Red Dzao in Giang Ta Chai village, visiting a waterfall and a suspension bridge. Walk up to the road for the car back to Sapa. Overnight in hotel.
Trekking: 4 hours, 7km
Day 6: Bac Ha Sunday market - Night train back to Hanoi (B,L)
In the early morning, depart for Bac Ha with 2 hours driving. Bac Ha is the largest and most colourful market in the area. Every Sunday morning, many different ethnic groups such as Flower Hmong, Phu La, Black Dao, Tay and Nung minorities gather to buy and sell local products that cannot be found elsewhere. After lunch, you will walk to the Tay minority village of Trung Do where you will get onboard a traditional boat and cruise along the Chay River.
Transfer back to Lao Cai for the night train back to Hanoi. Overnight on train.
Day 7: Hanoi - Ha Long (B,L,D)
The train arrives at Hanoi in the early morning (05.00 AM). Pick up from here and transfer to a 3* hotel for breakfast and short rest before a journey to Ha Long Bay.
Around 09.00 AM, drive to Ha Long Bay with 3 hours travelling for the overnight cruise on a deluxe junk. Begin with a seafood lunch then explore some limestone caves. In the afternoon enjoy a swim or relax in the sun on the top deck or try your hand at some kayaking.
Day 8: Ha Long Bay – Ha Noi (B,L)
This morning continue to move around the bay to find more secluded areas to either swim or kayak. At around midday, the boat will return to the main harbour before transferring to an awaiting vehicle for the journey back to Hanoi and spend the night there.
Day 9: Hanoi - Fly to Hue (B,L)
Fly to Hue in the morning. On arrival, take a relaxing cyclo to visit the town, Forbidden Purple City and Dong Ba market.
After that, enjoy a sunset cruise on the romantic Perfume river heading out for the countryside and visit Thien Mu Pagoda.
Day 10: Hue - Hoi An (B)
Free time in the morning.
In the afternoon, drive to Hoi An via Danang. Stop over at the wonderfully photogenic fishing village of Lang Co before a scenic route climbing over the Pass of Ocean Clouds (Hai Van Pass).
On arrival in Hoi An in late afternoon, transfer to hotel for check-in and spend the night there.
Day 11: Hoi An (B,L)
You will enjoy a half-day walking tour through the narrow, winding streets of the Ancient Quarter as you visit Chua Ong Pagoda, the Chinese Assembly Halls, the 200- year old Tam Ky ancestral house, and the Japanese Bridge. In the afternoon, you will bike along country roads to experience Vietnamese rural life and get in touch with local farmers. You’ll also take a sampan ride on the Thu Bon River to meet and interact with local fishermen, as well as enjoy the hands-on experience of traditional net fishing. You will also experience paddling the unique Vietnamese bamboo basket boat. After cycling back to town, you will have free time to relax at a local pub, do some shopping or visit the local tailors who make quality clothes in a flash.
Day 12: Hoi An - Fly to Nha Trang (B)
Fly to Nha Trang in the morning. Balance of the day is free time to enjoy sun, sea and sand of this famous beach city of Nha Trang. Overnight in Nha Trang.
Day 13: Nha Trang (B,L)
The fabulous sunny weather, turquoise water surrounding a string of islands and white sandy beach stretching the whole length of the city make Nha Trang one of Vietnam's premier beach resorts. After breakfast we board a boat for a day trip around the coastal islands, stopping on the way at a local fishing village to observe the island life. Today we also have lots of time on the blue clear water enjoying swimming and snorkeling or lazing on a beach. A seafood lunch is some enjoyment of the trip. We arrive back in town late afternoon and visit the Long Son Pagoda and the impressive Ponagar Cham Towers, which are overlooking the colorful fishing port
Overnight in Nha Trang.
Day 14: Nha Trang - Mui Ne (B)
In the morning, drive to Mui Ne with 4.5 hours driving. Mui Ne is home to giant sand dunes perfect for jeep safaris. The area is also justifiably known for its cheap and fresh seafood. Inspiring photographic opportunities abound with the brightly coloured Vietnamese fishing boats bringing in their catch in the morning.
Day 15-16: Mui Ne Free time (B)
Days at leisure to sunbathe on the beach, relax at the resort, or enjoy optional sand tobogganing, a jeep safari through the different colored sand dunes, or windsurfingand kite surfing!
Day 17: Mui Ne - Ho Chi Minh (B)
Today you will take a private vehicle to travel to Ho Chi Minh with 4.5 hours driving. Balance of the day is free time. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh.
Day 18: Ho Chi Minh City - Cu Chi Tunnels (B,L)
In the morning, drive to Cu Chi tunnels. The tunnels were part of an underground network that was built by the Vietcong during the American War. It reached from the southern tip of the Ho Chi Minh trail near the Cambodian border to the Saigon River. You will have the opportunity to creep into a tunnel to experience how the Vietcong lived and fought during this time.
Back to the city center to visit the Reunification Palace, the former palace of President Thieu and his predecessors. Nearby are the Post Office and the Notre Dame Cathedral.
Overnight in Ho Chi Minh.
Day 19: Ho Chi Minh City- My Tho - Can Tho (B,L)
Leave Ho Chi Minh to lush My Tho where we cruise on a private boat through the green vegetation of the canals to an orchard, where we are treated to a delicious lunch in a local restaurant in the heart of the Mekong , complete with tropical fruits. We also visit the snake farm Dong Tam that breeds snakes for, among other things, snake wine and visit VinhTrang pagoda, a combination of Asian and European pagoda before heading Can Tho city, heart of the Mekong Delta. Overnight in Can Tho.
Day 20: Cai Rang floating market - Ho Chi Minh City (B,L)
You wake up to the sounds of the Mekong River welcoming a new day. Take boat trip to join in the Cai Rang floating market – one of the most bustling floating markets in Mekong Delta with hundreds of small boats barging and jostling for space to sell their goods and to experience the Mekong rural lifestyle. After sampling local fruits, our guide will escort the guests back to the hotel through myriad canals. Lunch at local restaurant before return to Ho Chi Minh City to spend the night.
Day 21: Ho Chi Minh - Departure (B)
Time at your own leisure until transfer to the airport for your flight departure. End of our services.
