Itinerary
You are welcome at the airport and then transfer to the hotel for check-in. Balance of the day is free time. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
View morning Alms Ritual at a golden temple then embark on a day tour including the Wat Sieng Thong (the Golden Monastery) and Wat Visumalat. Take a trip to Pac Ou caves, filled with thousands of Buddha images. On the way visit Ban Xang Hai to learn about the traditional process of making local sticky rice alcohol (called Lao Lao). Enjoy a picnic lunch before returning to Luang Prabang.
Day trip visiting the local market, Royal Palace and Wat Mai. Transfer to the airport for the flight to Hanoi. Overnight in Hanoi.
This comprehensive day tour takes in all of Hanoi's essential sites. In the morning we will visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and historical presidential relics and then the Temple of Literature nearby. Afterwards we head to Ngoc Son Temple and Hoan Kiem Lake. The lake itself is a picturesque focal point of Hanoi, frequented by tourists and locals alike. In the afternoon, we will visit Museum of Ethnology, widely acknowledged as the best in the country which houses a display dedicated to Vietnam's 54 ethnic minority peoples. Then we will take 1 hour by cyclo ride through Hanoi's Old Quarters to experience daily life of people who are living in the oldest parts of the city. Enjoying the famous traditional water puppetry show where you will have chance to get a general picture of the daily activities typical to Vietnam's rural areas.
Drive to UNESCO World Heritage listed Halong Bay and board a traditional junk for an overnight cruise in crystalline emerald waters. Feast on sumptuous fresh, local seafood, swim, explore limestone caves and kayak in secluded lagoons.
Spend the morning cruising through Halong Bay and transfer back to Hanoi after lunch.
Arrive in Hanoi around 04.00 PM. Free time until boarding on the night train to Hue at 19.00. Overnight on train with A/C, soft sleeper cabin for 4 people.
Begin a city tour of UNESCO monuments including the Imperial Citadel and Imperial Tombs of the Emperors. Relax on a boat trip on the Perfume River to Thien Mu Pagoda.
Drive along the beautiful coastal road to Hoi An via Hai Van Pass, Danang and China Beach to the UNESCO Town of Hoi An, visiting the Cham Museum along the way.
The day is free at your leisure.
Arrive in HCMC and enjoy a half day city tour including the War Remnants Museum, Reunification Palace, the Old Post Office and Notre Dame Cathedral.
Leave Ho Chi Minh to lush My Tho where we cruise on a private boat through the green vegetation of the canals to an orchard, where we are treated to a delicious lunch in a local restaurant in the heart of the Mekong , complete with tropical fruits. We also visit the snake farm Dong Tam that breeds snakes for, among other things, snake wine before heading back to Ho Chi Minh.
Overnight in Saigon.
Free time, our driver will pick you up from your hotel to the airport for the flight to Siem Reap, on arrival, the Cambodian driver will escort you to the hotel in the center of Siem Reap, check in, free time.
A morning tour of the temples starts at the South Gate of Angkor Thom City. Angkor Thom was the last capital of the Khmer empire and its massive 8 meter high walls surround an area filled with temples. Set in the center of this area is Bayon, whose massive towers are carved with enigmatic faces. After a rest at the hotel the day ends with a tuk-tuk tour of the Small Circuit temples, the most well known being the atmospheric Ta Prohm, which sit's engulfed by the power of the jungle.
Overnight in Siem Reap.
This morning, head out to Banteay Srei, a petite pink sandstone temple, before continuing on to Kbal Spean. Here, the water rushes over a riverbed that is carved with Hindu symbols, giving it the name 'River of 1000 Lingas'. Return to the heart of the Angkor complex this afternoon as you visit the temples along the 'Grand Circuit', including the evocative Preah Khan. End your day at Angkor Wat and explore the intricate carvings and passageways of this 12th century temple. Watch the sun set over Angkor Wat's five towers and marvel at its wonder.
Overnight in Siem Reap.
