Capella Hanoi, Amanoi become Vietnam's first hotels to receive Three Michelin Keys
Capella Hanoi and Amanoi Resort have earned the prestigious Three Michelin Keys, the highest accolade recognizing hotels that deliver an outstanding stay experience.
At the official launch of the Michelin Key Global Hotel Rating System on Oct. 8, the Michelin Guide unveiled its 2025 selection, after months of evaluations.
Vietnam made a debut in the ranking, with 13 hotels and resorts honored, including two with Three Michelin Keys, three with Two Keys, and eight with One Key.
Capella Hanoi, located on Le Phung Hieu Street, was designed by architect Bill Bensley and was inspired by opera houses of the 1920s. The 47-room hotel combines French architecture with indigenous cultural details.

The Amanoi resort in Nui Chua National Park, overlooking Vinh Hy Bay off Khanh Hoa Province in central Vietnam includes villas and pavilions with private pools, focusing on wellness services and quiet spaces.
Four Seasons The Nam Hai in Da Nang, Banyan Tree Lang Co Resort in Hue and Zannier Bai San Ho in Dak Lak Province received Two Michelin Keys.
8 hotels that achieved 1 Michelin Key are Azerai Ke Ga Bay (Lam Dong), Legacy Mekong (Can Tho), Six Senses Con Dao (HCMC), Sofitel Legend Metropole (Hanoi), Park Hyatt Saigon (HCMC), Six Senses Ninh Van Bay (Khanh Hoa), Regent Phu Quoc (An Giang) and Hotel de la Coupole - MGallery (Lao Cai).
The Michelin Key is considered "the Michelin Star for hotels," establishing a new global benchmark for the art of hospitality and the stay experience. The Michelin Guide has curated a selection of over 7,000 hotels across more than 125 countries.
Hotels in the selection are evaluated according to five criteria: how well the property connects guests with its destination; excellence in architecture and interior design; consistency in service quality, comfort, and maintenance; coherence between experience and value; and the property's unique identity reflecting authenticity and character. The criteria emphasize the holistic experience rather than facilities alone, setting a new international standard for high-quality hospitality.
Hotels awarded Keys are categorized into three levels: One Key for a special stay, Two Keys for an exceptional stay, and Three Keys – the highest level – for an outstanding stay.
Michelin describes Three Key hotels as "a destination for the trip of a lifetime." So Vietnam is also one of the best destinations for luxury vacations
