Upon arrival at Lao Cai Railway Station in the early morning, you will be warmly welcomed by our local guide and driver before departing for Bac Ha on a scenic 2-hour drive.
Held every Sunday, Bac Ha Market brings together people from various hill-tribe communities, including the Flower Hmong, Phu La, Black Dao, Tay, and Nung. The market is a lively showcase of highland life, with colorful stalls selling traditional clothing, handmade crafts, local produce, and livestock such as cattle, pigs, horses, and poultry. You will also find plenty of Bac Ha corn wine, a well-known specialty of the region.
One of the market's best-known specialties is Thang Co, traditionally made with horse meat, bones, and offal. Large steaming pots are served with local herbs and often enjoyed alongside strong corn wine.
Beyond trading, the Sunday market is also an important social gathering. After selling their goods, many highland men spend time eating, chatting, and sharing cups of corn wine. By late morning, some may have had rather more than they intended, creating memorable scenes as family members lead their horses home while their husbands take a much-needed ride back.
After exploring the market and enjoying lunch at a carefully selected restaurant, continue to Ban Pho Village, home to the Flower Hmong community and well known for its traditional Bac Ha corn wine. Here, you can learn about the traditional process of fermenting locally grown corn with natural yeast and distilling the spirit, known for its strong character and high alcohol content.
In the afternoon, rejoin your private vehicle for the transfer to Sapa. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure to relax after the day's activities.

Continue trekking through the valley to Lao Chai Village and then on to Ta Van Village, home to the Dzay ethnic community. Learn about their culture, customs, and everyday life.
Enjoy a delicious local lunch at a restaurant in the village before returning to Sapa town.
At around 3:00 PM, board a comfortable limousine van for the drive back to Hanoi. Arrive in Hanoi at approximately 8:30 PM, check in at your hotel, and enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure.
